An Iranian drone targeted the Israeli embassy in Manama of Bahrain, late Thursday (March 5).

According to Fars News Agency, the Israeli embassy is housed within Manama’s commercial complex, ‘Financial Harbour Towers.’

Fars reported that the embassy’s presence made the building a target, though Reuters stated the drone was destroyed before reaching its target. No major damage or casualties have been reported so far.

Separately, Lebanese militant group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for attacks on Israeli military positions and strategic sites early Friday.

Hezbollah fighters struck Israeli forces near the Maroun al-Ras and Kfar Kila areas along the Lebanon border, as well as the ‘Yov’ military camp in the occupied Golan Heights and the Haifa port naval base.

No casualties have been reported from Hezbollah’s attacks. Israeli authorities had reportedly warned residents near the border to evacuate prior to the strikes.

On the other hand, a US military strike has caused severe damage, including a fire, on an Iranian navy drone-carrying warship, a spokesperson for the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed Thursday.

Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM spokesperson, posted on X that “sinking Iran’s entire naval force is our mission, and we will not back down. Today, we destroyed an Iranian drone carrier, roughly the size of a World War II aircraft carrier. Following our strike, the vessel caught fire.”

Admiral Cooper claimed that, so far, the US Navy has destroyed 30 Iranian warships as part of these operations.

Since February 28, the United States and Israel have conducted joint military operations in Iranian waters.
