Iranian FM arrives in Russia for talks with Putin

Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi has arrived in St. Petersburg for high-level talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

Citing IRNA, Al Jazeera reported that the visit comes as part of ongoing consultations between Tehran and Moscow on key regional and international developments.

Araghchi is expected to meet President Putin and other senior Russian officials during the visit to discuss the latest geopolitical situation, including the ongoing conflict dynamics and escalating tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

In remarks ahead of the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister said the visit aims to sustain close strategic coordination between the two countries, describing the dialogue as “significant” amid the current regional and global crisis environment.
