Iranian missile barrage hits Haifa, causing multiple injuries
At least 17 people were injured—two of them seriously—after Iranian ballistic missiles struck Haifa on Friday afternoon, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The strikes were part of a broader barrage that triggered air raid sirens across the country, according to Jerusalem Post.
Multiple impact sites were reported, with at least two confirmed hits in Haifa. Initial explosions were heard in northern and central Israel. In addition to the two seriously injured, three people were lightly wounded in the North, and a total of 12 injuries were later confirmed from two separate impact sites, according to Magen David Adom (MDA).
Emergency responders were dispatched immediately to affected areas. The MDA confirmed it treated the wounded at the scenes before evacuating several to nearby hospitals.
According to Israeli media, Iran launched at least 20 ballistic missiles into Israeli territory during the attack.
Meanwhile, Israeli television host Eyal Kitzis attempted to bring some levity to a tense national mood during a recent broadcast, offering his trademark satirical take on the unfolding crisis.
In a separate development, American commentator Jon Stewart remarked that his long-standing friendship with former U.S. President Donald Trump has deteriorated, citing Trump’s outspoken support for Israel amid the escalating conflict.
The situation remains fluid as security forces assess the damage and continue to monitor for further threats.
