Iran has launched a coordinated missile and drone attack on Israel, reportedly carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Iranian state media.

The large-scale assault has triggered widespread power outages across southern Israel, disrupting electricity services in multiple cities. The incident was reported on Monday (June 23) by Al Jazeera.

Citing official sources, Al Jazeera stated that several regions in southern Israel were plunged into darkness following the strikes. The Times of Israel reported that the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) confirmed a missile had struck near a "strategic infrastructure site," causing disruptions to power supply in surrounding areas.

In a statement, the IEC said, “Our teams have been immediately dispatched to the affected site to restore electricity as quickly as possible. Repair work is underway in coordination with national security forces to address infrastructure damage and mitigate safety risks.”

During the attack, air raid sirens reportedly sounded for approximately 35 minutes, forcing residents to remain in bomb shelters for an extended period. Israel’s Channel 13 noted, “This was the longest continuous shelter alert since the start of the conflict with Iran.”

Earlier, the IRGC publicly confirmed it had carried out the attack using both missiles and drones. Iranian news outlet Tasnim claimed the operation involved solid- and liquid-fueled missiles, along with advanced tactics designed to bypass Israel’s air defense systems.

According to the report, missile strikes were reported in five key Israeli cities: Safed, Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Ashdod, and Beit She'an. As of now, Israeli authorities have not issued any official response regarding the incident.
