An Iranian nuclear scientist was killed in an Israeli drone strike on a building in Tehran on Friday, according to state Israeli broadcaster KAN and other local media.

The strike took place in the Gisha neighborhood of the Iranian capital. The Israeli military has not immediately commented on the reports.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he had instructed the military to intensify attacks on “symbols of the regime” in Tehran, with the aim of destabilizing the Iranian government.

“We must strike at all the symbols of the regime and the mechanisms of oppression of the population, such as the Basij militia, and the regime’s power base, such as the Revolutionary Guard,” Katz said in a statement.

According to reports, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) targeted a group of senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officers gathered at a "secret" location in the mountains outside Tehran, eliminating them simultaneously.
