Iran’s Former Foreign Minister and Head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharazi has died after sustaining critical injuries in recent airstrikes.

He died on April 9 while undergoing treatment in hospital, according to the state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Kharazi was severely wounded in an April 1 aerial attack reportedly carried out by the United States and Israel. His wife was killed in the same strike.

A key figure in Iran’s political establishment, Kharazi played a significant role in shaping the country’s foreign policy over decades.

His death comes amid escalating hostilities, with Iran facing what officials describe as 39 consecutive days of airstrikes targeting political and military infrastructure.

The crisis has reportedly resulted in the deaths of several senior figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, marking a severe blow to the country’s leadership.

The United States and Israel claim that more than 50 high-ranking Iranian officials and military commanders have been killed in their recent operations.
