Iran’s President sets three conditions for ending war
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has outlined three key conditions for ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, saying peace efforts can move forward only if those demands are met.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (March 11), Pezeshkian said Iran supports regional peace but insisted that any ceasefire must be based on recognition of Iran’s legitimate rights, compensation for war-related damages, and credible international guarantees against future attacks.
He also accused Israel—which he referred to as the “Zionist regime”—and the United States of provoking the current conflict, stressing that a durable resolution would require firm global assurances preventing further aggression against Iran.
The Iranian president said he discussed the situation with the leaders of Russia and Pakistan, noting that Tehran has consistently supported regional stability but believes the crisis cannot end without implementation of the three proposed conditions.
Diplomatic activity has intensified internationally to halt the conflict, which began on February 28 following joint strikes by the United States and Israel. Since then, tensions involving Iran and countries across the region have sharply escalated.
Amid the growing crisis, Russia has maintained close communication with Iran’s leadership and repeatedly called for efforts to de-escalate the situation.
