Iraq down to 10 men after red card, Senegal holds 1-goal lead
Dramatic scenes unfolded early on in the World Cup group stage match between Senegal and Iraq. In just the 13th minute of the game, an Iraqi player was shown a straight red card and forced to leave the pitch, leaving Iraq to play the remainder of the match with only 10 men.
Earlier, Senegal had taken a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 4th minute. Following the red card, the situation has grown even more challenging for Iraq, who also made a substitution in the 16th minute, presumably due to an injury.
With a one-goal advantage against a 10-man Iraqi side, Sadio Mané's Senegal is now looking to maintain control of the match.
