Israel carried out multiple airstrikes and artillery bombardments on Gaza City and surrounding areas on Saturday, killing at least seven people, according to Gaza’s Civil Defence. The attacks came even after Hamas agreed to a ceasefire proposal, despite US President Donald Trump urging Israel to halt the bombings. Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal told AFP the night had been extremely violent, with Israeli forces hitting several areas. He said 20 houses were destroyed overnight. The Baptist Hospital in Gaza City reported receiving four bodies and several wounded after an airstrike on a home in the Tuffah neighbourhood. Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said two children were killed and eight others injured when a drone struck tents in a camp for displaced people.
