US intelligence agencies have expressed concern that Israel may be preparing to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to American news outlet CNN, multiple unnamed US officials have shared this information. However, Israel has not yet commented on the report.

The news was also highlighted in a Reuters report on Wednesday. But Reuters noted that it is still unclear whether Israel has made a final decision to launch the attack. There are also differing opinions within the U.S. administration—some believe Israel may ultimately choose not to carry out the strike.

A CNN report quoted an intelligence source saying that the possibility of an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities has "significantly increased" in recent months. The source further stated that if the U.S. and Iran reach a deal that does not require Iran to completely dismantle its uranium stockpile, Israel would likely move closer to taking military action.

Quoting two American officials, CNN reported that Israel has recently taken several military steps—such as moving munitions intended for airstrikes and conducting large-scale air drills—that suggest preparations for a possible attack.

The US National Security Council (NSC) has not made any immediate comment on the matter. Similarly, no response has been received from the Israeli embassy or the Prime Minister’s Office.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “America’s demand to stop uranium enrichment is excessive and unreasonable.” He also expressed doubts about the success of any new nuclear deal talks.

Given the situation, tensions in the Middle East may rise even further.
