Israel is reportedly preparing for a possible military strike on Iran in the coming days, potentially without US support, sources told US media outlets.

The move comes as US President Donald Trump is reportedly in advanced talks with Iran aimed at reaching a diplomatic deal to limit Tehran’s nuclear programme.

Negotiations between Washington and Tehran appear to be nearing a preliminary agreement that includes provisions on uranium enrichment. However, Israel views these terms as unacceptable.

According to sources, including a Capitol Hill aide, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is seriously considering a unilateral strike on Iran. This information was reported by NBC News, Sky News’ US partner network.

Adding to tensions, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN’s nuclear watchdog, recently declared for the first time in 20 years that Iran is not complying with its nuclear obligations. Iran maintains it has always met its commitments.

An Israeli strike would mark a significant departure from the Trump administration’s stance, which has so far opposed military action against Iran.
