Israel reportedly strikes Imam Hossein University in Tehran
Israel has reportedly launched a strike on Imam Hossein University, located on the eastern outskirts of Tehran. The BBC, citing Iranian media sources, reported the incident on Wednesday.
The university is believed to be closely affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a powerful branch of the country’s armed forces, according to the BBC.
The attack comes amid rising tensions, as Israeli operations across Iran have reportedly resulted in significant casualties. According to the Washington-based group Human Rights Activists, at least 585 people have been killed and 1,326 injured nationwide. This data was cited by Al Jazeera.
The organization stated that of those killed, 239 were civilians and 126 were members of Iran’s security forces.
The Iranian government’s most recent official update, released on Monday, reported 224 deaths and 1,277 injuries. That figure was also carried by Al Jazeera.
Iran has not provided regular updates on casualties since the conflict began, with Monday’s report marking the latest available official figures.
