Israel, US conduct joint military strikes on Iran

Israel and the United States have carried out coordinated military strikes on Iran.

A US official confirmed about the strikes, describing the operation as part of a joint Israel-US military plan, reports Al Jazeera.

Iranian media reported hearing at least three explosions in central Tehran.

Fars News Agency added that multiple missiles struck the Republic area of the capital.

Earlier on Saturday (February 28), Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel had launched “preventive strikes” in Iran. Immediately following the attacks, Katz declared a state of emergency across Israel.

Israeli defense forces have been placed on maximum alert to counter any potential retaliatory attacks and ensure national security.
