Iran’s armed forces have issued a stern warning that any attack on its embassy in Lebanon would trigger retaliatory strikes against Israeli embassies worldwide, reports BBC.

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, a senior spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces, made the statement regarding threats against Iran’s diplomatic mission in Beirut.

Shekarchi accused Israel, which he described as a “criminal state,” of repeatedly violating international norms and borders. “Despite Iran’s extensive capabilities, the Islamic Republic has exercised restraint out of respect for international norms and diplomatic relations with countries worldwide,” he said.

He added, “Iran holds no hostility or conflict with any country except the United States and Israel.”

Responding to Israeli threats, Shekarchi stated that any strike on Iran’s embassy in Lebanon would compel Tehran to consider all Israeli embassies around the world as legitimate military targets.

Reaffirming Iran’s commitment to the ongoing conflict, Shekarchi vowed to defeat Israel and its primary ally, the United States, emphasising that Iran would not waver from this objective.

Analysts say the statement marks a further escalation in regional tensions, raising concerns over potential international fallout and increased security risks for diplomatic missions.
