Israeli strikes kill 63 more in Gaza
At least 63 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip within 24 hours, as Israeli forces intensified their ground offensive and airstrikes, reports Al Jazeera.
Israeli tanks reportedly entered the Sabra area of Gaza City on Saturday, signalling an escalation of the military ground operation. Footage obtained by Al Jazeera Arabic showed armor advancing into the district, located near the heavily bombarded Zaytoun neighbourhood.
Gaza’s Al-Ahly Hospital confirmed that a child was among the victims of the latest strikes in Sabra. The Zaytoun area has faced near-daily bombardment over the past week, with many neighborhoods left in ruins.
In southern Gaza, Israeli shelling of a tent sheltering displaced families in the Asda area northwest of Khan Yunis killed at least 16 people, including six children, according to medical sources.
Meanwhile, at least 22 Palestinians were killed throughout the day while attempting to access humanitarian aid. One civilian was shot near a distribution center southeast of Khan Yunis, while another was fatally shot near the Israeli-controlled Netzarim corridor.
