At least 72 more Palestinians have been killed and 174 injured in Israeli shelling on the Gaza Strip. The attacks took place throughout Friday, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, as reported by Anadolu Agency.

According to the ministry, the total number of people killed in Israeli attacks has now reached 56,331 as of Monday. Another 132,632 have been injured.

The conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. In response, Israel started a military operation in Gaza.

After 15 months of continuous military operations, Israel declared a ceasefire on January 19 under pressure from the United States and other mediators. However, less than two months later, on March 18, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) resumed their attacks on Gaza.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that, since the second phase of the operation began, 6,008 people have been killed and 20,591 injured.
