Israeli strikes kill nearly 600 in Iran over 5 Days: Rights Group
A wave of Israeli airstrikes and missile-drone attacks over the past five days has killed at least 585 people in Iran, according to U.S.-based human rights organization Human Rights Activists. The group also reports more than 1,300 injuries as the conflict intensifies.
The strikes began on June 13, hitting Tehran and multiple other cities. Among the dead, 126 have been identified as military personnel and 239 as civilians, with the rest yet to be identified.
Iran’s Health Ministry released an earlier statement on June 14, estimating 224 deaths and 1,277 injuries. However, the government has not issued regular updates since then. The latest official update, published Monday, echoed those numbers.
The growing disparity between government figures and those provided by rights groups has raised concerns about transparency and the scale of the humanitarian toll.
As regional tensions continue to rise, international observers warn the situation could escalate further if diplomatic efforts fail.
