Israeli troops kill 5 more Palestinian journalists
Four Palestinian journalists were killed on Monday (August 25) in an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to the Gaza government media office.
The journalists—Hussam al-Masri (Reuters), Mohammad Salama (Al Jazeera), Mariam Abu Daqqa (freelance), Ahmed Abu Aziz and Moaz Abu Taha .
The total number of journalists killed since the Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, 2023, now stands at 244, reports Al Jazeera.
In a statement, Nasser Hospital confirmed the attack, stating that the journalist team was on assignment when the strike occurred. In total, 14 people were killed in the incident, including several patients receiving treatment.
The Gaza authorities have condemned the attack, holding the Israeli military and its international allies—including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France—responsible.
Earlier this month, six other journalists, including five affiliated with Al Jazeera, were killed in a separate Israeli strike near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
