It is possible to act alongside fulfilling religious duties: Hasan Masood

Actor Hasan Masood has clarified that he has not made any decision to step away from acting. Although recent discussions arose suggesting he was quitting acting based on comments from a recent interview, the actor stated that this is not true and that a portion of his remarks was misinterpreted.

Hasan Masood explained that he had not been acting regularly for a long time due to a lack of preferred or quality work opportunities. He has not done any acting work for nearly two years, though he has occasionally worked in commercials.

He said, "Perhaps my statement needed to be clearer when expressing the matter on television. But I never said that I will not act in the future. I hope everyone understands my statement."

He had also spoken about a scarcity of good content, but he clarified that these remarks do not mean a permanent retirement from the acting profession.

Rejecting the notion that he is staying away from acting due to an increased focus on religious practice, he stated that it is entirely possible to act while fulfilling religious duties. Even amidst the busy schedule of shooting, one can perform prayers, and he has done precisely that throughout his long acting career.

Hasan Masood shared that he has been praying regularly since 2000. During shoots, colleagues and directors also respected this practice, granting breaks for prayers when needed. Often, directors themselves would remind him to take a break.

When asked if he has any intention of returning to acting, Hasan Masood stated that he will definitely return to acting if he gets good stories and suitable characters. Bangladeshi audiences know him through his acting, so he has no objection to working again if a good opportunity arises.

Since returning to the country after performing Hajj, the actor has already worked in two commercials. Although his hair had not fully returned to its normal state at that time, the production team accepted the situation and allowed him to work comfortably.

However, he expressed readiness to cut his hair or shave if required by the needs of a character.
