Jamaat ameer urges countrymen not to believe any rumours

Noting that the country has been witnessing a night of rumours, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has requested the countrymen not to pay attention to these rumours.

On his verified Facebook page, he wrote, ‘Dear countrymen, a night of rumours is passing on. Everyone be careful, do not pay attention to these rumours. Insha Allah, the victory of truth is inevitable.’

This post was made on his verified Facebook page shortly after 11pm on Wednesday.

Earlier today, around 11am, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Thakurgaon district unit Ameer Belal Uddin was arrested at Nilphamari’s Saidpur Airport with a huge amount of money. Police later said that Tk74 lakh was found in his possession.

However, Jamaat-e-Islami has alleged that drama was being staged in the incident of Belal Uddin’s arrest with money. The party also claims that the act was done to question Jamaat leaders.

In addition, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists across the country have been accused of vote rigging, occupying polling stations, and spreading violence.
