BNP Chairperson's political adviser and party's election spokesperson Mahdi Amin has commented that the arrest of Thakurgaon district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer with a huge amount of cash at Syedpur Airport cannot be termed an 'isolated incident'.

He made this remark at an emergency press conference held at the BNP election office in Gulshan on Wednesday afternoon, February 11.

Mahdi Amin said the Thakurgaon district Jamaat Ameer has been arrested with Tk 74 lakh. When all banks and financial institutions remain closed to prevent illegal financial transactions during the election, the question arises with what intention the top leader of a district was carrying such a huge amount of cash.

He added that one does not need to be an expert to understand why so much cash was being carried despite business establishments being shut. The incident at Syedpur Airport cannot be called isolated.

The election conduct committee spokesperson further commented that this clear violation of the code of conduct proves the bankruptcy and unethical influence of the party which is isolated from the masses. He said the process of collecting bKash numbers to offer financial诱 and the matter of selling tickets to paradise have been rejected by ordinary voters.

Mahdi Amin also alleged that a group is attempting to create various obstacles against BNP's popularity.
