Jubo Dal leader shot dead in Dhaka
A Jubo Dal leader was shot dead by assailants on Monday evening ( November 17) in the capital's Pallabi.
The deceased was identified as Gulam Kibria, member-secretary of Pallabi unit of Jubo Dal.
Police have detained one person, though details of the suspect have not yet been released.
The shooting took place around 7.00pm in Block C, Road 13 of the Pallabi area, where Kibria was hit by five rounds of gunfire, said SI Rashedul Islam of Pallabi Police Station.
He said the incident occurred during a clash between two local factions of Jubo Dal.
Kibria was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival, confirmed Dhaka North BNP convener Aminul Haque.
Police have launched an investigation and are searching for those involved.
Following the incident, Jubo Dal and BNP activists gathered at the crime scene and the hospital premises.
