Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has come under fresh criticism after referring to Generation Z (Gen Z) students as "Generation Gutter" while commenting on the ongoing NEET issue in India.

The remark sparked widespread backlash on social media, with many users describing it as offensive and disrespectful toward the younger generation. The criticism also came from a section of her supporters, who questioned the appropriateness of the statement.

The controversy soon spilled onto the streets of Uttar Pradesh, where women leaders and activists staged demonstrations and burned Kangana's effigy, demanding an unconditional apology.

Protesters alleged that her remarks insulted young people, particularly women, and accused her of making irresponsible comments against an entire generation.

Videos of the protests have since gone viral on social media. At the same time, an eight-year-old party video of Kangana has resurfaced online, further fueling debate surrounding the actor-turned-politician.

Although Kangana has attempted to explain the context of her remarks, protesters say her clarification is unacceptable and have vowed to continue their demonstrations until she issues a public apology.

The controversy has also intensified political debate in Uttar Pradesh. However, Kangana Ranaut has yet to issue any fresh official statement on the matter.
