Karina Kaiser laid to rest in maternal family graveyard in Munshiganj
Popular content creator and actress Karina Kaiser was laid to rest in her maternal family graveyard in Gajaria upazila of Munshiganj on Monday (May 18).
Her funeral prayer (janaza) was held at 7:00am in Abdullahpur village, behind Bhoberchar bus stand in Gajaria. She was later buried at her maternal grandmother’s garden house premises in the same village.
Karina Kaiser, who died while undergoing treatment in Chennai, India, was the daughter of former national football team star player Kaiser Hamid and Lopa Kaiser. She was also the granddaughter of the late Dr. Abul Khayer Bacchu and Dr. Johora Khanom Parul.
Family members said her body was brought to Munshiganj late Sunday night after being flown to Dhaka, where multiple funeral prayers and public tributes were held, including at the Central Shaheed Minar.
The final rites were conducted in a private family setting, with authorities restricting media access and discouraging public presence at the burial site. Locals, however, joined the early morning janaza in limited numbers following informal announcements.
Karina had been undergoing treatment for liver-related complications at a hospital in Chennai, where she passed away on Friday. Her body was repatriated to Bangladesh on Sunday afternoon.
Family members said the decision to keep the burial private was taken to ensure a quiet farewell away from media attention and large public gatherings.
