Khaled takes 3 wickets for Kent in promotion match

After Hasan Mahmud, Khaled Ahmed has become one of the mainstays of county side Kent's bowling attack. He once again proved his worth in an important match.

In the County Championship Division Two match against Gloucestershire in Canterbury, Khaled took three wickets in the first innings. With his three wickets and Matt Milnes's four, Gloucestershire were bowled out for 229.

According to county rules, a team gets three bonus bowling points if it can bowl out the opposition within 110 overs. These three points could prove important for Kent, who are in the promotion race.

The match against Gloucestershire is Kent's last match of the season. A win in this match will confirm the team's promotion to Division One. Kent's main rival in the promotion race is Northamptonshire.

Currently, Kent are second in the table with 195 points. Northamptonshire are third with 191 points. Even if the two teams have equal points, Kent will get promotion, as they have two more wins than Northamptonshire this season.

Kent are also in a good position in the match against Gloucestershire. After bowling out the opposition for 229, Kent's score at the end of the first day's play was 71 for one.

On the other hand, Northamptonshire's situation is comparatively difficult. They were bowled out for just 103 in the first innings. In reply, Middlesex scored 255. As a result, Middlesex took a 152-run lead in the first innings.
