Khaleda Zia’s condition stable but not out of danger: Khokon

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia remains in a stable yet critical condition, party Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon said on Saturday (November 29).

Speaking to reporters outside Evercare Hospital in Dhaka around 12:30pm, he stated that while her condition is stable, she cannot yet be considered “out of danger.”

Khokon added that the medical board is making every effort to restore her health and expressed hope for her speedy recovery.

Regarding potential treatment abroad, he said no decision has been made yet; it will depend on her medical condition, and the medical team will determine the course of action.

A team of specialist doctors from China has shown interest in assisting her treatment. While some friendly countries’ medical experts are monitoring her condition, travel abroad is currently not possible due to her fragile state. Critical tests are ongoing, and further decisions will follow based on the results.

Meanwhile, BNP leaders and supporters have gathered outside Evercare Hospital since morning, praying for the former Prime Minister’s swift recovery.
