Khalilur-Cook meeting discusses UN General Assembly, Rohingya, migration cooperation

Sarah Cooke, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, met with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman, with discussions covering the foreign adviser's priorities as president of the UN General Assembly, the Rohingya crisis, and Bangladesh-UK migration cooperation, at a meeting held on Sunday.

According to a message from the British High Commission in Dhaka, Sarah Cooke sought to learn about Dr Khalilur Rahman's priority areas as president of the UN General Assembly during the meeting.

Ahead of the ninth anniversary of the Rohingya crisis, the meeting also discussed the UK's support for this population.

In addition, mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and the UK on migration issues came up prominently in the discussion.

Alongside multilateral issues, the meeting also reflected the continued engagement between Dhaka and London on humanitarian and migration cooperation.
