The government of Kuwait has allowed expatriate workers who are unable to return to Kuwait due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East to be absent for three months without penalty. In addition, the validity of expired visit visas has been extended by one month.

The Labor Wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait gave this information in a clarification on the notification issued by the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait.

It said that considering the ongoing war situation in the Gulf region, the validity of all types of visit entry visas that have expired or are about to expire has been extended by one month from February 28. This extension will be effective automatically through the electronic system, so there is no need to apply to the Residency Department.

Considering the current exceptional situation, no fee or penalty will be imposed for this extended period.

In addition, those living in Kuwait who are currently outside the country and have exceeded the deadline to return home due to the situation will also be granted an automatic three-month absence electronically. There is no need to appear in person and the extension will be effective without any fee.
