Kyrgyzstan invites Bangladesh to tri-nation football series

Kyrgyzstan Football Union has invited Bangladesh to participate in a tri-nation football series in Kyrgyzstan as part of preparations for the upcoming SAFF Championship to be held in Dhaka in November.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal confirmed the matter on Sunday, saying an informal invitation has been received from Kyrgyzstan. Discussions between the two football authorities are ongoing, and a mutual decision will be made regarding participation in the September FIFA window.

The BFF plans to organise four friendly matches for the national team during the September and October international breaks. Two to three of these matches are likely to be held in Kyrgyzstan. A 10-day preparatory camp is also planned from September 21.

Earlier, in 2021, Bangladesh had also participated in a tri-nation series in Kyrgyzstan, losing 2-0 to Palestine and 4-1 to hosts Kyrgyzstan.

The 15th edition of the SAFF Championship will be held in Bangladesh from November 4 to 17. The BFF has taken the initiative to play international matches to strengthen preparations for the tournament.
