'Lost' actress found living in nature after 23 years of anonymity
Malini Sharma, who captivated audiences with her mysterious role in Vikram Bhatt's horror film 'Raj' (2002), has returned to the spotlight after 23 years. Her ethereal presence and terrifying portrayal of a ghost in the film had sent chills down the spines of viewers. However, shortly after the film's release, she gradually stepped away from acting.
Malini began her career in modelling and also worked on several popular music videos and television shows. After the success of 'Raj', many assumed she would be seen on a larger scale in Bollywood. However, she withdrew from the industry soon after. For a long time, little was known about her personal life.
After stepping away from acting, Malini chose a completely different life. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the city, she now lives amidst nature near the Sahyadri mountains in Maharashtra, where she has established her own farmstay.
Today, farming, cooking, hosting guests and spending time in nature are the most significant parts of her life. She grows various vegetables on her land, and the produce from that farm is used to prepare meals for guests at the farmstay.
Her farmstay has become more than just a place to stay; it has also become a space for guests to connect with local culture and nature, featuring local food, handmade items and various workshops.
Malini has also launched an initiative called 'The Slow Local'. The goal is to introduce people to local food, agriculture, handicrafts and nature, away from the frenzy of urban life. Later, her new life became the focus of 'The Slow Local Diaries'.
Recently, after a long 23 years, Malini Sharma has appeared before the camera once again. However, this time it is not for a film role but to speak about her current life and experiences. Her story highlights a life entirely different from the glitz and glamour of Bollywood.
Once known for terrifying audiences as a fearsome spirit in the film 'Raj', she is now seen leading a peaceful life surrounded by green hills. Malini Sharma's transformed life—moving away from the Bollywood limelight to embrace farming, nature and hospitality—has sparked a fresh wave of curiosity.
