A Land Cruiser Prado brand car was found in the parking zone of a multi-storey building in Kushtia city. Police and locals believe that the car worth crores of rupees belongs to the slain former MP from Jhenaidah-4 constituency, Anwarul Azim Anar.

The locals informed the police after finding the car. Later, on Monday (June 9), a team of Kushtia Model Police Station went to the spot around 12 midnight.

On Tuesday (June 10), at around 11 am, Kushtia Police spokesperson Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Faisal Mahmud told the media that the car has been seized and kept in the custody of the building owner. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the car belongs to the former MP from Jhenaidah or not. The papers will be verified by BRTA officials. However, this is not possible due to the office holiday. Action will be taken later.

Anwarul Azim's daughter Mumtarin Ferdous told the media that she was sure that the car belonged to her father after seeing the license plate number. She had seen pictures and news of the car on social media since last night.

She said that after the brutal murder of her father in Kolkata, India and the incident after August 5 last year, she had not had the opportunity to see or inquire about where, how, or who owned the car. She will take legal action to recover the car.

According to police and local sources, a black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado car worth several crores of taka was brought to the Safina Tower garage about three months ago.

Alamgir, the guard in charge of the Safina Tower garage, said that two officials of a tobacco company left the car about three months ago. Five flats on the second, third and fourth floors of the building have been rented for the buyers of their company.
