Mahfuj Alam collects nomination form for Lakshmipur-1 constituency

Mahfuj Alam, former adviser to the interim government on information and broadcasting, has collected nomination papers to contest the 13th national parliamentary election as an independent candidate from his home constituency, Lakshmipur-1 (Ramganj).

The nomination papers were collected on behalf of Mahfuj Alam today (28 December), said Ramganj Upazila Election Officer and Returning Officer Obaidur Rahman.

Meanwhile, the former adviser's elder brother, Mahbub Alam Mahir, central joint convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has also collected nomination papers from the same constituency to contest the election.

In total, 16 aspirants have so far purchased nomination forms from the constituency to take part in the upcoming parliamentary election, according to the upazila election office.
