Mahira Khan set to become mother for second time
Mahira Khan, 41, the popular Pakistani actress, is set to become a mother for the second time. She confirmed the news of her pregnancy while participating in the Toronto International Film Festival 2026 (TIFF).
Mahira Khan shared the happy news by posting a photo on social media in which she is seen wearing a white loose gown. Her baby bump is clearly visible in the picture. Placing one hand on the baby bump and smiling, she wrote in the caption, “We plan, but in the end Allah’s plan is final.”
Mahira Khan moderated a discussion session as part of TIFF’s Community Impact programme. She was also given a special honour at the festival for her special contribution to cinema. Her presence at the festival nearly a decade after her Bollywood debut in the 2016 film Raees opposite Shah Rukh Khan has drawn special attention.
In her personal life, Mahira Khan married businessman Salim Karim in October 2023. This is the couple’s first child. However, it is the second child for Mahira. She has a 17-year-old son named Azlaan with her first husband Ali Askari.
Azlaan played an important role in Mahira Khan’s second marriage to Salim Karim. He escorted his mother to the wedding stage.
Professionally, Mahira Khan was last seen in the Pakistani Urdu film Aag Lagaye Basti Mein directed by Bilal Atif Khan. Fahad Mustafa played the lead male role in the film. Javed Sheikh, Tabish Hashmi, Salahuddin Tunio, Ali Abdullah, Samra Shahzadi and Hafiz Reza Ahmed also acted in it.
