Mahmudullah and Mushfiq finally picked in BPL auction

Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim went unsold in the first round of the BPL auction, despite having a base price of Tk 35 lakh in category B. Both players were signed after the local players’ auction concluded.

As they were not called in the first round, Mahmudullah and Mushfiq were set to be moved from category B to C. However, considering their experience, they were retained in their previous category. Mahmudullah has joined Rangpur Riders, while Mushfiqur Rahim has been signed by Rajshahi Warriors, both at the base price of Tk 35 lakh.

Rangpur Riders wrote on Facebook, “Mahmudullah Riyad joins the Riders. Welcome to the Riders family, Mr Senior!” Earlier, Mushfiq posted a cryptic message: “Alhamdulillah, for everything.”

Among local players, Naeem Sheikh fetched the highest price, being signed by Chattogram Royals for Tk 1 crore 10 lakh. Liton Das will play for Rangpur Riders.
