Malaysia deports 242 migrants, including 30 Bangladeshis
Malaysia has repatriated 242 foreign nationals, including 30 Bangladeshi nationals after they completed their prison sentences for various offenses.
According to a statement released by the country’s Immigration Department in Johor Baru state on Sunday, the deportees included 120 citizens from Indonesia, 62 from Myanmar, 18 from Vietnam, five each from Thailand and Pakistan, one from Sri Lanka and one from Vietnam.
As an additional measure, they have been blacklisted to prevent them from re-entering Malaysia, as per media reports.
The department further explained that the individuals were returned to their respective countries by air or land at their own expense after their nationalities were verified by their respective embassies.
