‘Marriage’ of two humanoid robots in Dubai sparks curiosity online
Dubai’s popular humanoid robot Bo Sunaida has sparked discussion on social media after announcing its ‘marriage’ to another robot named Moza.
Along with announcing the wedding on the robot’s official social media account, several photographs from the event were also shared.
The announcement and photographs have generated widespread curiosity among netizens, with many commenting on the ‘marriage’ of the two robots.
According to media reports, Bo Sunaida was developed by SS Lotha Group. The robot is built on the technological foundation of the Unitree G1 humanoid robot.
Humanoid robots of this kind are generally developed for research, technology demonstrations and educational purposes.
Bo Sunaida gained popularity after videos of the robot participating in various cultural and heritage events and public programmes in the United Arab Emirates were shared on social media.
Over time, the robot has also developed its own online following.
However, the much-discussed ‘marriage’ does not represent a real marital relationship.
The developer said the wedding event involving Bo Sunaida and Moza was primarily created as entertainment content for social media.
In other words, despite the wedding announcement and photographs from the event, the ceremony has no legal or religious validity.
The event, created by combining technology and entertainment, has nevertheless sparked fresh discussion on social media.
