Australia will naturally be on the back foot before entering the T20 version after losing the ODI series 2-1. However, they want to make a great comeback in twenty-over cricket — that is what captain Mitchell Marsh has made clear. Captain Liton Das also gave a glimpse of what Bangladesh's counter-plan will be to deal with Australia's familiar aggressive form.

Marsh said at a pre-series press conference at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram, "There have been some changes in the team and the boys are looking forward to this series. There is no doubt that the tour was difficult, but we will go into the field with the ambition of playing great cricket and winning this series."

Australia will also be without regular opener Travis Head in the T20 version. However, the inclusion of captain Marsh and middle-order batter Tim David is adding strength to the team. Marsh said about David, "In my opinion, he is one of the best middle-order batsmen in the world. Our strength has definitely increased a lot with him coming back to the team. He is very experienced and confident in his own abilities."

Liton Das is emphasizing on playing his normal cricket without overthinking the opponent's strength. He said, "All teams are aggressive in the short format. Australia is a big name, they will try to give their best. We will also try to play our best cricket."

Australia is quite cautious about the conditions and the current Bangladesh team. They have realized in the ODI series that the conditions this time are different from the spin track in Mirpur in 2021. Praising Bangladesh's pace unit in particular, Marsh said, "It is very exciting for Bangladesh cricket that they have some good pacers. We have had a tough time in ODIs. They are a very organized team now and are playing great cricket."

The confidence of the Bangladesh team is now high due to the ODI series win. Liton believes that it is possible to maintain that cheerful attitude in the dressing room as most of the cricketers in the squad are the same. However, he believes that the decision and application on the field are the real thing, without thinking about past victories, "To win against any team, you have to play very good cricket on that particular day."

Bangladesh's mission is to maintain the continuity of ODI success at the Sagorika ground on Wednesday, while Australia's goal is to restore their familiar dominance.
