Mass walk out during Netanyahu’s UN speech
The vast majority of diplomats and officials in the UN General Assembly Hall appeared to walk out as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the stage for his address.
Amid Israel’s ongoing massacre in besieged Gaza continues, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly on Friday, September 26. According to Anadolu Agency, just before his speech began, an extraordinary scene unfolded — most country delegations walked out of the General Assembly in protest.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s health ministry reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks across the enclave has surpassed 65,000, while more than 160,000 have been injured. Many remain trapped under the rubble.
Since breaking the ceasefire earlier this year, Israel on 27 May launched a separate aid distribution initiative through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, bypassing the UN and international aid agencies — a move supported by the United States. This step worsened the famine in Gaza.
Israeli forces have also been shooting at Palestinians gathered near food distribution centers, killing hundreds.
In November last year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over the war in the enclave.
