Massive explosions in multiple Iranian cities
The conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel continues, now in its 24th day.
On the 24th day, massive explosions were heard in Iran's capital Tehran and several other cities. Alongside sounds of air defence systems activating in central Tehran, strong explosions were reported in the eastern and western parts of the capital.
Explosions are also occurring in many other Iranian cities amid ongoing US and Israeli airstrikes.
According to news agencies, one person was killed in an attack targeting a radio station in Bandar Abbas.
Several civilians have died in attacks on residential areas in Khorramabad and Urmia. At least 1,500 deaths have been confirmed in the ongoing attacks in Iran at the time of reporting, with the toll expected to rise given the intensity of the strikes.
Explosions have also been reported in Isfahan, Karaj and Ahvaz. A hospital in the south-western city of Ahvaz was reportedly also hit.
The Iranian Red Crescent Society has reported that over 80,000 civilian structures have been targeted so far, with several buildings completely destroyed. The list of damaged structures includes hospitals, schools, educational institutions and Red Crescent offices.
