Messi and Ronaldo to play together in Tevez's farewell match

One of the most anticipated scenes in the football world may finally become a reality. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could take the field as teammates for the first time in their careers, with both reportedly set to feature in Carlos Tevez's farewell match.

Boca Juniors are planning a special match to honour Argentine star Carlos Tevez later this year. The club's president, Juan Roman Riquelme, a former teammate of Tevez, is keen on organising the event.

According to TYC Sports journalist Marcelo Palacios, Tevez, who played for Boca Juniors in three separate stints, will be officially bid farewell at La Bombonera Stadium in December, five years after retiring from football.

Around 60 star footballers are expected to be invited, with Messi and Ronaldo on the list. Tevez played alongside Messi for the Argentina national team and shared the dressing room with Ronaldo at Manchester United for three seasons.

Tevez himself has expressed a desire to have the two superstars on the same side. When asked if it would be possible, he replied, "We will put them together." He also said he has been in contact with both via WhatsApp and confidently remarked about Ronaldo: "I will bring him myself."

Messi currently plays for Inter Miami, while Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr. Messi has retired from international football, while Ronaldo has also hinted that he is in the final stages of his career.

If all goes as planned, the football world could witness Messi and Ronaldo in the same jersey for the first time in Tevez's farewell match in December.
