Messi hits 100 Inter Miami goals, lifts another trophy
Lionel Messi added another landmark to his remarkable career on Wednesday (September 16), scoring his 100th goal for Inter Miami as the club beat Cruz Azul 2-0 to win the Campeones Cup.
Messi opened the scoring in the 24th minute, heading in a cross from Luis Suárez to reach the century mark in his Inter Miami career. He achieved the feat in 115 appearances across all competitions, becoming the first player in club history to score 100 goals.
The milestone also completed a remarkable circle for Messi, as Cruz Azul were the opponents against whom he scored his first goal for Miami on his debut in July 2023.
Casemiro doubled Miami’s lead in the 81st minute, heading home a corner delivered by Messi as the Florida club secured its fourth major trophy since the Argentine’s arrival. Miami had previously won the 2023 Leagues Cup, 2024 Supporters’ Shield and 2025 MLS Cup.
Messi’s latest achievement adds to a long list of milestones since his move to the United States. He has continued to score and collect trophies for Miami while becoming a central figure in the club’s rapid rise.
The 2026 Campeones Cup triumph therefore gave Messi another memorable night: a personal century and another piece of silverware for Inter Miami.
