Meta apologises for removing Narendra Modi's Facebook video

Meta has apologised after a Facebook video featuring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was temporarily removed from the platform, saying the incident was caused by a technical error.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed in a statement that the video had been mistakenly taken down and was later restored after the issue was identified and resolved.

The Indian government has taken the matter seriously and is reportedly examining the circumstances surrounding the video's removal.

According to sources, Meta representatives and relevant officials may be summoned to explain what led to the incident.

The video, uploaded on July 23, featured Modi's first message to Generation Z amid student protests organised under the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) banner.

In the address, he pledged stringent action against examination paper leaks. Before it was briefly removed, the video had already garnered millions of views.
