Metro rail services
will soon operate on Fridays as well, although the specific start date has not
yet been determined. MAN Siddique, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit
Company Limited (DMTCL), announced this on Monday (September 2).
He said, "We
are working on it and will conduct a site visit today. We need a bit more time
to finalize everything. The entire system needs to be set up for Fridays, but
we are actively working towards the launch."

A DMTCL source
said, "If services start on Fridays, they might begin at 3:00 PM, with
hours extended gradually. However, this is not yet confirmed. We have discussed
the matter with the advisor, but the exact date is still to be determined. We
will provide details soon, but the launch is expected to happen very
soon."

শিগগিরই শুক্রবারও মেট্রোরেল সেবা চালু হতে যাচ্ছে। তবে কোন সময়ে চলাচল করবে তা এখনো ঠিক হয়নি। সোমবার (২ সেপ্টেম্বর) এ তথ্য জানিয়েছেন ঢাকা ম্যাস ট্রানজিট কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের (ডিএমটিসিএল) ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক এমএএন ছিদ্দিক। 

তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা ওইটা নিয়ে কাজ করছি। আজকেও আমরা ভিজিটে যাব। আমাদের আরেকটু সময় দিতে হবে। শুক্রবারের পুরো সিস্টেমটা সাজাতে হবে তো। তবে আমরা চালুর বিষয়ে কাজ করছি এইটুকু আপাতত বলতে পারি।’ 

ডিএমটিসিএলের একটি সূত্র বলছে, শুক্রবার চালু হলে বেলা ৩টা থেকে হতে পারে। পর্যায়ক্রমিকভাবে সময় বাড়ানো হবে। এই বিষয়টি এখনো নিশ্চিত না। 

ডিএমটিসিএলের সূত্র বলছে, `শুক্রবার নিয়ে এখনো ঘোষণা হয়নি, তবে পরিকল্পনায় আছে। উপদেষ্টা মহোদয়ের সঙ্গে বিষয়টি নিয়ে আলাপ হয়েছে। তারিখটা এখনো নির্ধারণ করা হয়নি। হলে জানতে পারবেন। তবে খুব দ্রুতই আমরা চালু করতে যাচ্ছি।'
