The biopic of legendary pop icon Michael Jackson, titled 'Michael', is breaking all previous records and creating new history. The film has already surpassed blockbusters like 'The Hunger Games' and 'Twilight', nearing the 900 million dollar mark.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film earned another 23.1 million dollars over the past weekend, bringing its global total to 897.9 million dollars. It is now just 13 million dollars away from breaking the record of the all-time highest-grossing music biopic, 'Bohemian Rhapsody', which earned 910.8 million dollars. Film experts believe the record will be broken within this week.

The biggest attraction of the film is that Michael Jackson is portrayed by his own nephew, Jaafar Jackson, the son of Jermaine Jackson. Audiences have been amazed by Jaafar's walking style, mannerisms and famous 'moonwalk' dance on screen. The film's craze in international markets is such that over 543 million dollars of its earnings have come from outside the United States.

The filmmakers' main target now is to enter the 1 billion dollar club. The film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theatres next week, and experts believe the anticipated collection from there will easily push the film past the 1 billion dollar milestone.
