Mild heat wave, rain likely in 36 districts

A mild heat wave is sweeping over 36 districts of the country, which may continue for the next few days, the Meteorological Department has said.

This information was given in the forecast given by meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Farooq on Tuesday (June 10).

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds may occur in some areas of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and one or two places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions until 9 am next Wednesday (June 11). However, the weather will remain generally dry with partly cloudy skies in the rest of the country.

The ongoing mild heat wave may continue in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna divisions as well as Faridpur, Madaripur, Tangail, Chandpur, Feni and Patuakhali districts. The day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged during this time.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers is likely to occur in some areas of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and one or two places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Wednesday (June 11). Although the temperature remains unchanged, the tendency of rain may increase.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in several areas of Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and some places of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Thursday (June 12). There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain at some places. The temperature may decrease slightly during this time.

Rain accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers is likely to occur in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and some areas of Khulna and Rajshahi divisions in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Friday (June 13). Moderate to heavy rain is likely at some places and the temperature may drop slightly.

Rain accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers is likely at most areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at some places of Rajshahi division in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Saturday (June 14). Heavy rain may occur at some places and the temperature may drop slightly.

The Meteorological Department said that the rainfall trend may continue in the next five days and the temperature may gradually decrease.
