Ministers of 3 Middle East countries call FM, assure expat safety

The foreign ministers of Kuwait and Bahrain and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar have called Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East and the safety of Bangladeshi expatriates.

Dr Khalilur Rahman shared this information while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, March 2.

He said, "In the context of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, I received phone calls from the foreign ministers of Kuwait and Bahrain and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar."

The foreign minister stated that the discussions primarily focused on ensuring the security and safety of Bangladeshi citizens living in the region.

He further said, "They have assured us regarding the safety of our expatriates."

He informed that the government is maintaining close contact with relevant authorities and is closely monitoring the situation to protect the interests of Bangladeshi citizens abroad.
