Rain brought an early end to the third day of the Dhaka Test, with Bangladesh holding a narrow 81-run lead. Persistent poor light disrupted play throughout, and only five overs were bowled in the final session on Wednesday (October 23) before rain intervened. Bangladesh finished the day at 283 for 7.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the backbone of the innings, remaining unbeaten on 87, while Nayeem Hasan provided support with 16 not out. After collapsing for 106 in their first innings, Bangladesh made a strong recovery, overtaking South Africa's 202-run lead.

As the fourth day approaches on Thursday, the Tigers will look to Miraz to build on their lead and set a competitive target for South Africa.
