Sirens sounded across Haifa and northern Israel on Tuesday morning, just over an hour after Jerusalem agreed to a bilateral ceasefire with Iran, following a call by U.S. President Donald Trump. The ceasefire was scheduled to take effect three hours earlier.

According to reports, a single missile launch was detected and successfully intercepted.

“Following the sirens that were heard in the past few minutes: As of now, no reports of casualties have been received, except for a man who was injured on his way to a shelter. Further updates will be provided as necessary,” Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, stated.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

In response, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issued a warning, saying that if another launch were confirmed, “Tehran will tremble.” Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he had ordered “heavy strikes to be carried out” in the heart of the Iranian capital.

Earlier Tuesday morning, the Israeli government announced it had agreed to a ceasefire with Iran after declaring that it had achieved all strategic goals in its latest military campaign, dubbed Operation Rising Lion.

The statement came shortly after President Trump publicly confirmed the agreement. The ceasefire was set to begin at 7 a.m. local time. In the hours leading up to the ceasefire, Iranian missile barrages killed four civilians in a direct strike on an apartment building in Be'er Sheva.
