Modi orders strict action against question paper leak culprits

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the government stands by students in the controversial NIT-UG 2026 question paper leak case. He has also ordered the strictest possible action against those involved in the incident.

He further stated that question paper leaks are a national concern and everyone must work together to tackle it.

Modi made these remarks while speaking on various issues at the NDA parliamentary party's 'Mangal Milan' meeting on Tuesday (July 21). The meeting discussed education, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), farmers' welfare and the country's recent achievements.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Prime Minister had described the paper leak as a national concern. He also stressed that the central and state governments must work in a coordinated manner to stop such crimes.

Rijiju said the government took swift action after allegations of the paper leak surfaced, with 13 people sent to jail. He said a re-examination has been arranged quickly so that students' academic lives are not disrupted.

Quoting Modi, Rijiju said the paper leak incident should not be turned into a political issue. The central and state governments must work together to eliminate such crimes from any part of the country.

The Prime Minister also said everyone must work unitedly to ensure that no one involved in the paper leak escapes the law. He reiterated that the future of the country's youth cannot be put at risk under any circumstances.

Modi's comments came a day after protests intensified over allegations of the NIT-UG 2026 paper leak. Earlier, a delegation of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) met Union Health Minister JP Nadda to present their demands. Clashes also occurred during a march towards Parliament at the same time.
