Morocco overcome Haiti scare to win 4-2 in Atlanta thriller
Morocco secured a crucial 4-2 victory over Haiti in their World Cup Group C match at the Atlanta Stadium on Thursday, coming from behind twice to claim all three points.
The match started with a shock as underdogs Haiti took the lead in the 10th minute through Lens Joseph, who capitalised on a loose ball to make it 1-0.
Morocco responded well and gradually took control of the midfield. Captain Achraf Hakimi equalised in the 39th minute, but Haiti regained the lead just four minutes later when Wilson Isidore scored a stunning long-range strike.
Morocco refused to give up and equalised again in first-half stoppage time through Ismail Saibari, sending the teams into the break level at 2-2.
In the second half, Morocco took full control of the match with organised passing and possession. Substitute Sofiane Rahimi scored the crucial go-ahead goal in the 78th minute to make it 3-2.
Morocco sealed the victory in the 89th minute with a fourth goal, ensuring a 4-2 win that strengthens their position in the group and moves them closer to the knockout stages.
